October 19, 1969: a few members of what would become Elkton Free Will Baptist met in the living room of James King to fellowship and discuss the idea of building a church.


June 19, 1970: first service held in Kyger building on Rockingham Street in Elkton.  (Where the Farmers & Merchant Bank is now)

















1971: Foundation is laid and the basement is poured and prepared to hold first services


July 2, 1972: First services were held in the basement!


September 16, 1973: By this time the santuary has been raised and the first service is held in the completed church. The offering for this first church service came to $22.49














A windstorm blew the steeple off (pictured above left) and a new one was bought and secured to the church (pictured above right)


May 1975: The Ladies Auxillary was organized with Venda King as the first president.


Billy King, brother to James King, takes over as pastor of Elkton Free Will Baptist Church.


Today we are blessed to have a beautiful church to attend, wonderful people to fellowship with, and a loving God to serve.
